Innovative Carbide is looking for Machinists for their state-of-the-art facility in Irwin, PA

Shapes and cuts pressed carbide into a desired product using machinery such as saws, lathes, grinders, and mills.

Saw Operator:

Using a band saw or table saw, rough-cuts the billet to the appropriate size(s) and shape(s) to yield the maximum amount of product.
Removes the head of the product (excess) using a table saw or bow saw.

Lathe/Mill Operator:

Setup, program and operate computer controlled CNC lathe (Vertical or Horizontal) or Mill.

Grinder Operator:

Uses pedestal grinder to grind desired shape or angle into the product and remove stock from product.

For All Positions:

Uses micrometers and other measuring tools to inspect product
Adhere to all quality policies and procedures
Report issues which may result in poor quality to Production Supervisor
Inspects products throughout shift to ensure quality meets company standards
Wear half facepiece reusable respirator throughout shift (face must be clean shaved)
Monitors dust collection and moves vacuum dust hood of cutting, grinding or milling, machine or lathe, to assure minimal carbide dust is released to the shop’s atmosphere
Wear steel-toed boots for the duration of shift
Wear assigned PPE to safely perform tasks
Comply with company safety policies and procedures
Regular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibility

Maintain a positive and professional attitude
Report any and all injuries to immediate supervisor(s)
Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe work environment
Attend company sponsored training when necessary
Report to work daily and on time unless otherwise excused
Adhere to all quality policies and procedures
Report issues which may result in poor quality to Production Supervisor
Inspects products throughout shift to ensure quality meets company standards
Performs other duties as assigned or needed
Must be able to work rotating shifts (2 weeks daylight – 1 week afternoon)

Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Must be able to wear a respirator throughout shift (face must be clean shaved)
Attention to detail
Ability to receive and carry out verbal and written instructions given by management
